Who are we?
Mike and Paul, owners of Coyaba Tropical Guesthouse / Bed and Breakfast welcome guests looking for beach and jungle adventures in Costa Rica. Our two Spanish Colonial buildings have been completely restored and renovated with modern conveniences, and each of our 5 rooms is uniquely different and has been tastefully decorated to reflect the warmth and richness of Costa Rican culture. Our location is ideal for getting away from the crowds, just 7 minutes to Manuel Antonio National Park / Beach via public bus ride or taxi, yet close enough for a leisurely walk to the charming fishing town of Quepos.
Offering casual elegance, and modest priced, quality accommodations that can be used as a base to explore the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica, Coyaba Tropical Guesthouse / Bed and Breakfast provides a unique fusion of Jamaican and Canadian hospitality in an ideal location close to everything, attractions, adventure tours, shopping, restaurants, and beaches.
With so many places to stay why choose us?
We know that staying someplace that's clean, warm and inviting can make all the difference to your vacation experience. What you won't see here is the same generic decor that greets you at many larger motels/hotels, or metal buffet platters full of scrambled eggs next to little prefabricated plastic jelly dispensers. Our guests consistently tell us how Coyaba Tropical Guesthouse / Bed and Breakfast is cosy, uniquely different and special, which is also supported by four years of awards and TripAdvisor testimonials.
Coyaba Tropical is not for everyone... our property is just as alive with character inside as it's distinctive wall as outside. The charm begins even before you're greeted with a smile and our friendly dogs at the front door. The property is surrounded by Palm trees and lush gardens, making it a tropical paradise. Our Guesthouse/B&B accommodation is centrally located on the only road leading to Manuel Antonio National Park with easy access to the Beach. The serpentine mountain road passes over a number of hills awash with picturesque views of forested slopes leading down to the palm-fringed coastline. We are just 7 minutes from world famous Manuel Antonio National Park with it's beautiful white sand beaches, and just one kilometre from the charming port town of Quepos. The staff at Coyaba Tropical are very knowledgeable about local attractions and can adventure tours, we can also suggest the best places for shopping, dining options to suit just about any taste or dietary need, or if you are just looking for bars to socialize, and places to dance the night away.
And when you return from your full day of exploring the National Park, relaxing on the Beach, Adventure Tours, or Nature watching... or after a night out on the town, our guests feel like they're returning home for the evening. There are no drab, cold, endless lobbies and hallways here to drag your tired feet through on the way to your room. At Coyaba Tropical Guesthouse you'll never be confined to a tiny boxy room. Instead you can soak with a cool drink in the Jacuzzi, take a refreshing dip in our pool, or just relax with a good book in our outdoor lounge area. Then in the morning wake up to the inviting aroma of freshly brewed locally grown Costa Rican coffee, home-made bread, and a home cooked breakfast, all served next to the pool before you start your day.
Where are we and how to you get to Quepos/Manuel Antonio?
There are many different Car Rental companies to choose from in Costa Rica which is why we only recommend local companies who offer clients good rates and reliable vehicles such as Alamo/National Car Rental who offer great deals, including cell phone rental, GPS and All-Inclusive rental packages.
Adventurous travelers may want to check out the Public Bus service with multiple departures daily leaving the Tracopa Bus Station from Central San Jose going to Quepos/Manuel Antonio. While this service is pretty reliable and inexpensive however we recommend using caution with your luggage and personal possessions stored inside the bus. For air conditioned comfort, safety and convenience, we can recommend a Hotel-to-Hotel shared ride shuttle service from San Jose that will drop you off at our front door, or if you prefer we would be pleased to arrange a private bilingual driver to greet you at the San Jose International Airport and bring you directly to Quepos/Manuel Antonio.
Finally if you just want to get to the beach quickly, either of the two Regional Airlines will get you here from San Jose in just 20 minutes with multiple flights daily. Check out flight schedules with Sansa or Nature Air.
